At a technical meeting this afternoon, someone said this:
"It would be good to reach out and touch a Jedi in a specific area."
I tried really hard to not be the only person giggling.
When I got back from the meeting, I was hoping that the cat5 Christmas MP3 featuring le sport would have been posted by now, but it hasn't been... I'm looking forward to hearing that one.
Description by Labrador: "Loveninjas’ songs sound like classic schlagers that have been forced through a dirty indie filter and then had their lyrics replaced by pornographic manga." Ummm... okay. Just listen to the song.
Gwen Stefani is pregant (reportedly). Go Fug Yourselfcalled it more than a week ago. I can't wait to see Gwen's maternity clothes. And since it's that time of the year when VH1 airs specials like So Jewtastic -- hey, did you know the music industry is run by Jews, just like Hollywood? -- I am compelled to mention that Gavin Rossdale is part-Jewish, so Gwen's baby is going to be a little bit Jewish too.
Via Stereogum, 15 Covers of Wham!'s "Last Christmas" over at copy, right? Ms. gl*mrocker, take note that there's a Hilary Duff cover.
Death Cab for Cutie are releasing a video for each of the songs on Plans.
I'm trying to be like all of the other D.C. bloggers and watch PandaCam, but butterstick is just sleeping all afternoon, and it's making me jealous. But once in a while he rolls over or something, and it's sorta cute.
If you're in Bethesda, stop by Second Story Books. They're having a 25% off the entire inventory sale. I wasn't in a book-buying mood today, but I did pick up a few fantastically cheap used CDs -- ABBA, Johnny Cash, Ben Kweller and Cyndi Lauper. They also have boxes upon boxes of records, which look to be mostly classical, but I haven't had time to dig through those yet.

Friday night was going to be party, party, Cedars show, Bliss. But after DJing twice on Thursday and getting up at 5 a.m. on Friday to get to work early, I barely made it through one (fantastic) party.
Before heading out for the evening, I was visited by my little brother and his scary new beard. We stopped by Revolution Records for an in-store performance by Jon Braman, who raps while playing a ukulele. It's about 300 times better than it sounds, seriously. I went at the last minute out of curiously, but my brother and I both really enjoyed it. Check out a few of his songs on his MySpace page. Braman has a show coming up at DC 9 on December 27, and is also performing on December 26 as part of The National Music Center's "The Gig," a multi-cultural holiday program taking place December 26-27 at The City Museum.
Get more info on "The Gig" here. Events include everything from Calypso steel drums to a gospel choir to Indonesean shadow puppets to DJing lessons with Will Eastman to quiltmaking lessons.
Speaking of holidays, I'm definitely not fighting the War on Christmas. I have a new favorite Christmas song, "Last Christmas." There's the Wham! version, the Jimmy Eat World version, and now this:
Thanks to Will Eastman for the heads-up on this one. More Swedish Chrismas songs here. I've never really heard Christmas disco music before, so I enjoyed this song also:
